Jobs for Life Class Begins in Nashville Prison

May 29, 2006 - 19 inmates are enrolled in the Jobs for Life class in the Davidson Country Detention Facility in Nashville, TN.  The class is being led by Men of Valor, a prison re-entry program whose purpose is to equip men in prison to re-enter society as men of integrity - becoming givers to the community rather than takers.

Mentors are assigned to each of the men spending at least one hour per week building relationships with them and encouraging them through the JfL class.  Volunteers are teaching the class two times per week with graduation slated for the beginning of August 2006.  The class is designed for men who are within three months of release from prison as a catalyst for them to make a productive transition back into the free world.
